Common Materials
HDPE: most common. Bottles, drums. Good chemical resistance. PP: hot-fill (up to 100C). Clear or natural. PVC: clarity, oil resistance. PET: excellent clarity, carbonated drinks. PC: high strength, hot-fill, but BPA concerns. Cost: HDPE $1.2-1.6/kg, PP $1.4-1.8/kg, PET $1.5-2.0/kg, PC $4-6/kg.
