Design Guidelines
- Minimum bend radius: 1x material thickness (aluminum: 1.5-2x)
- Hole distance from edge: ≥ 2x material thickness
- Slot width: ≥ 1.5x material thickness
- Flange height: ≥ 3x material thickness
- Uniform bend direction reduces tooling changes
Fabrication Tolerances
- Laser/plasma cutting: ±0.1-0.3 mm
- Bending angles: ±0.5-1°
- Formed dimensions: ±0.2-0.5 mm (first piece)
- Welded assemblies: ±0.5-1.5 mm
Finishing Options
- Powder coating: most common, wide color range
- Zinc plating: cost-effective corrosion protection
- Anodizing: aluminum only, decorative + protective
- Brushed + clear coat: aesthetic, premium
