China Manufacturing Guide
Last updated: 15 June 2026
Aluminum die casting is one of the most widely used manufacturing processes in China for producing metal parts with complex geometries, excellent surface finish, and tight tolerances. This guide covers the key aspects of sourcing aluminum die castings from Chinese suppliers.
ADC12 (equivalent to A383) is the most common aluminum die casting alloy in China. Other frequently used alloys include: A380 (best overall mechanical properties), A360 (better corrosion resistance), and A413 (excellent pressure tightness). Chinese die casters typically stock ADC12 by default. Specify alternative alloys in your purchase order or they will quote ADC12.
China's die casting cluster is concentrated in Guangdong (Zhaoqing, Foshan), Zhejiang (Ningbo), and Jiangsu (Suzhou). All major clusters have good port access. Lead times typically 4-8 weeks for tooling, 3-6 weeks for production.
