Aluminum Alloys Commonly Used in China

ADC12 (equivalent to A383) is the most common aluminum die casting alloy in China. Other frequently used alloys include: A380 (best overall mechanical properties), A360 (better corrosion resistance), and A413 (excellent pressure tightness). Chinese die casters typically stock ADC12 by default. Specify alternative alloys in your purchase order or they will quote ADC12.

Quality Control Points

Logistics and Infrastructure

China's die casting cluster is concentrated in Guangdong (Zhaoqing, Foshan), Zhejiang (Ningbo), and Jiangsu (Suzhou). All major clusters have good port access. Lead times typically 4-8 weeks for tooling, 3-6 weeks for production.

Buyer's Tip: ADC12 contains 2-3% copper, which is restricted in some EU markets (ELV directive). For parts destined for Europe, confirm RoHS compliance of the alloy. Many Chinese die casters can supply A443 or A360 alloys with reduced copper content on request.
