TGIC (triglycidyl isocyanurate) is a traditional curing agent for polyester powder coatings. It's classified as toxic and mutagenic in the EU — newer REACH regulations restrict its use. China still uses TGIC widely. If you're importing to Europe, specify TGIC-free (also called "primid" or HAA-cured polyester) powder. The performance difference is minimal, but TGIC-free powder has a shorter pot life in the reclaim system and slightly different curing profile.
Thin sheet metal (< 1.0 mm) can warp in the curing oven at 200 °C. The problem: thin sections heat faster and lose rigidity, causing the part to sag under its own weight. Reproducing the same color in powder coating across different production batches is harder than with liquid paint. Reasons: powder batch variation from the chemical supplier, different powder application thickness (darker at higher film build), and different curing temperature profiles. If multicolor parts must match, specify all parts be processed in a single batch from the same powder lot. For ongoing production, ask your supplier to keep a sealed powder lot for your project and restrict its use to your PO exclusively.

Powder coating over an existing coating is not recommended — adhesion will be weak and the existing coating may blister under the curing oven heat. Anodized aluminum must be stripped before powder coating (or the anodized layer must be mechanically abraded). For repainting existing parts, sandblast or chemical strip to bare metal first. The cost of stripping often approaches the cost of new powder coating.
Gas pits (small craters or pinholes) are caused by trapped volatiles — moisture in the powder, outgassing from the substrate (especially cast iron or die-cast metal with porosity), or contamination from silicone/PTFE in the vicinity.
