Jiaxing has been a textile center for centuries. Tongxiang (桐乡) is famous for woolen sweaters and cashmere, Haining (海宁) is China's leather capital producing leather garments, bags, and accessories, while Pinghu (平湖) specializes in garment manufacturing for export. The supply chain covers everything from yarn spinning and fabric weaving to dyeing, finishing, and garment assembly. MOQ flexibility ranges from mass production to small-batch orders.
Jiaxing's automotive sector has grown rapidly with major investments from global tier-1 suppliers. The Jiaxing Economic & Technological Development Zone hosts factories producing brake systems, engine components, transmission parts, steering systems, and automotive electronics. Key customers include Volkswagen, GM, Tesla, and Geely. The cluster benefits from proximity to Shanghai's automotive ecosystem.
Jiaxing has become a major base for electronics manufacturing, particularly in sensors, connectors, PCB assembly, and precision components. The Jiaxing Photovoltaic Industrial Park is one of China's largest solar panel manufacturing bases. The city also produces smartphone components, consumer electronics, and industrial control boards, benefiting from the Yangtze River Delta's deep electronics supply chain.
Jiashan County (嘉善) under Jiaxing has a strong precision hardware industry producing fasteners (screws, bolts, nuts), bearings, and machined components. Haining also hosts a major hardware cluster. These precision manufacturing capabilities serve the automotive, electronics, and construction industries.
Jiaxing does not have its own commercial airport. Shanghai Hongqiao (SHA) is 1 hour by HSR, Shanghai Pudong (PVG) is 1.5 hours, and Hangzhou Xiaoshan (HGH) is 1 hour — some of the best airport access of any Chinese city.
Jiaxing South Station on the Shanghai-Hangzhou HSR line. Express trains reach Shanghai Hongqiao in 27 minutes and Hangzhou East in 27 minutes. One of the most convenient HSR locations in China.

Shanghai's Yangshan and Waigaoqiao ports are just 1-1.5 hours by truck. Most Jiaxing exports route through Shanghai Port, the world's busiest container port.
