Xi'an is China's aerospace manufacturing heartland. The Xi'an Aerospace Base (国家航天产业基地) and AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry Group produce commercial and military aircraft components, satellites, rocket parts, and defense systems. Capabilities include CNC 5-axis machining, composite material fabrication, sheet metal forming, and advanced surface treatment for aerospace-grade specifications.
Xi'an hosts major semiconductor fabs including Samsung Semiconductor (NAND flash memory) and local players. The Xi'an Semiconductor Industrial Park (西安半导体产业园) covers chip design, wafer fabrication, packaging, and testing. While mostly captive to large corporations, the ecosystem has spawned many supporting equipment, materials, and precision parts suppliers.
Xi'an has a large electronics manufacturing base producing telecommunications equipment, power electronics, sensors, and industrial control systems. Many global electronics companies have manufacturing or R&D centers here, benefiting from the city's strong engineering talent pool from top universities like Xi'an Jiaotong University and Northwestern Polytechnical University.
Xi'an's long history as an industrial base has created a deep pool of precision machining and heavy equipment manufacturing capability. The city produces CNC machine tools, industrial robots, textile machinery, power generation equipment, and specialized manufacturing equipment for the aerospace and energy sectors.
Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (XIY) — major hub with flights to most Chinese cities and international routes to Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, London, Paris, and Moscow. About 1 hour from downtown.
Xi'an North and Xi'an Stations serve as a major HSR hub. 4 hours to Beijing, 5.5 hours to Shanghai, 3.5 hours to Guangzhou. The Xi'an-Chengdu HSR is 3.5 hours.
Excellent selection of international hotels in the city center and High-Tech Zone. The Xi'an area has many luxury and business-class hotels catering to corporate travelers.
