SMC vs BMC
SMC: fiber length 25-50mm, glass content 20-30% by weight. Used for large panels, automotive body panels, truck parts. BMC: fiber length 6-12mm, glass content 10-20%. Used for small precision parts, electrical components, lighting housings. Typical press tonnage: 10-20 tons per square foot of part area. Molding pressure 80-150 kg/cm2. Temperature 145-165C. Cure time 3-6 min.
