What is Welding

Welding joins two metal parts by heating, applying pressure, or both — creating an atomic-level bond at the joint. Unlike bolted connections (removable), welding produces a permanent joint whose strength can approach or exceed the base metal.

Three main categories: Fusion welding (melting), Pressure welding (pressure), and Brazing (filler metal below base metal melting point).
