Market Prices

Knowing the going rate before you ask for a quotation changes the conversation. A buyer who knows that M8 class 8.8 bolts cluster in a particular price band can tell an outlier quote from a competitive one, and can budget a landed cost before committing to a volume.

What this covers

Reference price

The typical selling price for a specification.

Price distribution

How listings spread across price bands.

Sample size

How many listings the figure is based on.

Data date

When the snapshot was taken.

How to use it

Prices are collected daily from public listings and aggregated by specification. We publish the sample size and the date alongside every figure so that you can judge how much weight to put on it, and we do not publish a trend where the underlying sample is still filling in — an apparent fall caused by more listings being collected is not a price fall.

Listed prices are asking prices, not transaction prices, and vary with quantity, finish and delivery terms. Use them to sanity-check quotations, not as a substitute for them.
